Cedara est né, ou presque!
Dans le "Petit Echo" (La revue interne de notre Société) numéro 5 de 2008, nous avons annoncé l'ouverture d'un autre centre de formation de quatrième étape en Afrique du Sud:
" Comme on manquera bientôt de maisons pour accueillir les candidats qui seront plus nombreux, le Conseil Général a décidé d'ouvrir une communauté de formation appelée à devenir un grand centre de formation avec quatre équipes de candidats. Nous l'ouvrirons en juillet 2008, à Cedara (Voir lendroit en cliquant sur la carte ci-dessus) dans l'archidiocèse de Durban, en Afrique du Sud.
Voir nos maisons de formation en Afrique (Cedara est à 100kms nord de Durban)Les premières années nous louerons une maison. Comme l'année académique va de février à novembre, nos candidats auront quelques mois pour améliorer leur connaissance de l'anglais écrit et parlé, apprendre le Zulu et s'initier aux réalités ecclésiales, politiques et socio-économiques du pays.
Nos candidats y vivront les quatre dernières années de leur formation initiale. À partir de février 2009, ils commenceront à étudier à l'Institut théologique St-Joseph de Cedara (www.sjti.ac.za). L'institut a été fondé par les Oblats de Marie Immaculée et s'est ouvert par la suite à d'autres instituts.
La première équipe de confrères choisis pour animer cette nouvelle fondation est composée de Raphael Gasimba (recteur et formateur), Jan De Groef (économe et formateur) et Réal Doucet (formateur). Accompagnons de nos prières ces confrères et les candidats qui les rejoindront. L'avenir est ouvert et nous le préparons dans l'espérance ".

Cedara is born or almost !
In the Petit Echo (Our private review) N° 5 of 2008 we announced the opening of another Fourth Phase formation centre in South Africa.
"Since there will soon be a need to welcome more candidates than the current structures can take, the General Council has decided to open a Formation community that could grow into a large Formation community with four teams in the future. This will be in Cedara,(Click on the map above) in the Archdiocese of Durban, in July 2008.

We will be in rented property for the first years. Since the courses begin only in February and end in November, the candidates will have a lot of time beforehand to learn or improve their written and spoken English, learn Zulu and be introduced to the ecclesial, political and socio-economic realities of the country that will be their home for the last four years of their Initial Formation.
As from February 2009, they will begin their theological studies in St Joseph's Theological Institute in Cedara (www.sjti.ac.za) . The Institute was founded by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, but they welcome other Congregations there.
The first team of confreres to lead this new experience will be composed of Raphael Gasimba (Rector - Formator), Jan De Groef (Bursar - Formator) and Real Doucet (Formator).
Let us accompany with our prayers the above confreres and the candidates who will join them as well as the entire experience. There is hope for the future!"
