The new archbishop of Kampala, his Grace Cyprien Kizito Lwanga,
invited the Religious for a monthly retreat at Lourdel House.

The input was given by the
Nuncio, Archbishop Christophe Pierre.

On the photo you see Bishop Robert Gay greeting the Nuncio. In the

A monthly retreat at Lourdel House
arranged by Archbishop Cyprien Kizito Lwanga for the 28th February 2007.

The input was given by His Grace Christophe Pierre, Nuncio to Uganda. He spoke about a new chapel in the Vatican, where Christ is picted as coming down from heaven, becoming human and go to the underworld to liberate it.

You have several pictures inserted of the life of Christ. He noted that first Mary washed the feet of Jesus and dried them with her hair, then on another picture: Jesus washes the feet of Peter. He calls this the birth of the church. He saw in this gesture the meaning of our Religious or Priestly Life. To serve in this humble way, not wanting to go for degrees and positions…

Afterwards the new archbishop lead the mass and gave some communcations. It is good for the Religious to have this kind of meeting, to get to know one another better and the leaders of the church.
A simple meal of Matoke and Sauce was enjoyed by all. The meeting next Month will be at the Verona Fathers in Mbuya.
