Edward Schoofs
on Tuesday 12th December 2017 at Frailcare house IMMADI à Hasselt
at the age of 94 years, of which 70 years of missionary life
in Burundi and Belgium.

Milestones of Father Edward Schoofs’ Life
Edward was born on the 22nd August 1923 at Kinrooi, in the Diocese of Hasselt in Belgium. He entered the Spiritual Year in the Missionaries of Africa on the 22nd September 1943 at Varsenare in Belgium. He continued his theological training at Heverlee where he took his Missionary Oath on the 6th April 1947 and was ordained to the priesthood on the 29th March 1948.
