AEFJN – A Bridge linking Africa and Europe

AFRICA EUROPE FAITH & JUSTICE NETWORK is a Faith-based Network that promotes economic justice in the relations between Africa and Europe.AEFJN consists of about 50 Christian missionary groups with more than 80,000 members in Africa and Europe that have experienced the reality of Africa. AEFJN is present in all African and European countries with active groups (Antennae) on both continents.

AEFJN listens to the voice of Africa, gathering and sharing information and echoes it to the European Institutions. It analyses the impact of EU policies on Africa, raises awareness and invites everyone to lobby European policy makers and the governments of African nations on the underlying causes of poverty.

AEFJN respects the inalienable dignity of the human being and promotes trade between Africa and Europe that considers human rights, labour rights, decent wages, fair prices, and a fair return for raw materials and agricultural products.

AEFJN responds to crisis situations, calling for action at European level.

AEFJN focuses on access to resources (land, water and seeds) for African family farmers. AEFJN advocates against international policies and investments that foster land grabbing.

CLIMATE CHANGE

AEFJN looks at the impact of EU climate change policies on Africa in the light of trade agreements and international aid.

TRADE

AEFJN advocates for inclusive economic growth and sustainable trade  relations which reduce  inequalities by creating decent jobs in Africa.

AEFJN calls for Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) that are fair to Africans and that support Africa’s economic development.

SMALL ARMS CONTROL

AEFJN calls for strong and effective legislation on arms transfers at the EU  and the UN to limit light weapons proliferation in Africa.

RAW MATERIALS AND NATURAL RESOURCES

AEFJN firmly believes that the exploitation of natural resources in Africa should benefit the local population and not a handful of powerful actors.

In particular, AEFJN advocates in favour of breaking the links between  resource exploitation and conflict.

ACCESS TO QUALITY MEDICINES

AEFJN promotes access to quality medicines at affordable prices for all in Africa.
