at the age of 83 years, of which 56 years of missionary life
in Upper Volta (Burkina Faso) and in Germany.

Milestones in Father Josef Stricker’s life
Josef was born on May 30, 1935 in Bühlertal, in the diocese of Feriburg, Germany. He entered the novitiate of the White Fathers (spiritual year of the Missionaries of Africa) on September 8, 1958 in Hörstel, then continued his theological studies in Eastview, Canada, where he took his missionary oath on June 23, 1962. He was ordained to the priesthood a year later, on 29 June 1963 in Lampertheim, Germany.
