Call for solidarity with the population of Goma

The General Council appeals to all confreres to come to the aid of the people of Goma who have been severely affected by the eruption of the Nyiragongo volcano in recent days. In particular, it invites us to express our moral, spiritual and material support to the confreres of the parish of Notre Dame d’Afrique in Katoy who have remained on the spot and who are taking care of the displaced people who are flocking there.  On Monday morning, what is missing is food. Algeria: Christians given to the Church (KTO)

Twenty-five years ago, the monks of Tibhirine were murdered for having chosen to stand by the Algerian people during the “black decade”, the wave of Islamist terrorism that devastated Algeria in the 1990s and claimed between 100,000 and 200,000 victims. To remember the Christians who have given to the Church in Algeria, from yesterday to today, we have the joy of receiving Mgr Claude Rault, Bishop Emeritus of Laghouat-Ghardaïa.

2021 Laudato Si’ week

Laudato Sì Week 2021, to be held May 16-25, will be the crowning event of the Special Laudato Si’ Anniversary Year, and a celebration of the great progress the whole Church has made on its journey to ecological conversion. Laudato Sì Week 2021 will also be a time to reflect on what the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us and prepare for the future with hope.
