Erich Brink

on Friday 12th April 2019 in Munich (Germany)
at the age of 78 years, of which 57 years of missionary life
in Ghana, Zambia, Nigeria, Italy and Germany.

Milestones in Brother Erich Brink’s life

Erich was born on the 6th of November 1940 in Münster, in the diocese of Osnabrück, Germany. After having followed a professional formation as a carpenter, he entered the novitiate of the White Fathers (Missionaries of Africa) in Hörstel on 9th August 1959 as a brother candidate. As was the practice at the time, Brother Erich took his temporary missionary oath two years later, on 6th August 1961, then continued his formation at the Brothers’ scholasticate in Marienthal, Luxembourg, and left for Ghana where he took his perpetual missionary oath on 15th August 1968 in Tamale.
