at the age of 97 years, of which 70 years of missionary life
in Tanzania and in France.

Milestones in the life of Father Gabriel Chevalier
Gabriel was born on January 23, 1921 in St-Aubain-des-Ormeaux, in the diocese of Luçon, France. He entered the novitiate of the White Fathers on October 1, 1941 at Maison-Carrée, Algeria. He then continued his theological training in Thibar, Tunisia, where he took his missionary oath on June 29, 1948. He was ordained priest on June 11, 1949 in ‘s-Heerenberg, in the Netherlands.
