on Thursday 20th December 2018 at Heythuysen (Netherlands)
at the age of 82 years, of which 60 years of mission years of missionary life
in Tanzania and the Netherlands.

Milestones in Brother Gerard Hoppenreijs’ life
Gerard was born on April 30, 1936 in Elst, in the diocese of Utrecht, in the Netherlands. He was admitted to the Novitiate of the White Fathers’ Brothers on August 7, 1956 in `s-Heerenberg (Netherlands). At that time, the novitiate of the brothers lasted two years at the end of which they took a temporary missionary oath. This was the case for Gerard who pronounced his on July 30, 1958. He took his final oath on 23 July 1964 in his native country, in Esch.
