on the 29th June 2017 at Heythuysen (Netherlands)
at the age of 82 years, of which 58 years of Missionary life
in Tanzania, en Ireland and the Netherlands.

Milestones of Father Jan Dekkers’ life
Born on the 10th November 1934 at Eindhoven, in the Diocese of ‘s Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands, Jan began his Spiritual Year with the Missionaries of Africa on the 5th September 1955 at Alexandria Bay in the United States. He thereafter studied Theology at Eastview (USA) where he took his Missionary Oath on the 20th June 1959, before being ordained to the priesthood on the 2nd February 1960 in his native land at Tilburg.
