on Sunday 5th August 2018 at Varsenare (Belgium)
at the age of 87 years, of which 62 years of missionary life
in DR Congo, Rwanda and Belgium.

Milestones in Father Mathieu Janssen’s life
Mathieu Janssen was born on 16 March 1931 in Opglabbeek in the Province of Limburg in Belgium. He entered the Novitiate (Spiritual Year) of the Missionaries of Africa on September 21, 1952 in Varsenare. He continued his theological studies at Eastview, Canada, where he took his missionary oath on June 16, 1956. He received priestly ordination on 21 April 1957 in Heverlee (Belgium).
