Violence in DRC

VIOLENCE CONTINUES IN THE DRC AND MAJOR VICTIMS ARE ALWAYS WOMEN AND CHILDREN ….

This is why the JUSTICE AND PEACE Joint Commission of the International Union of General Superiors (UISG) and the International Union of General Superiors (USG) (Rome) has accepted the request of the British Government to help them promote its Protocol to combat sexual violence in the world.
A WORKSHOP WAS ORGANIZED IN GOMA FROM 2 TO 9 APRIL FOR A BETTER TRAINING OF THE CONSECRATED TO WELCOME AND INTEGRATE THE VICTIMS IN THE GREAT LAKES COUNTRIES.

38 religious men and women of many apostolic congregations and diocesan priests, from all the DRC and from Rwanda and Burundi, and even from Rome, participated in this workshop for 6 days. Thanks to the interactive methodology it was a great moment to share experiences and expertise and to acquire new tools and pastoral and psychosocial practices. No one feared the announcements of strikes, dead cities and peaceful marches announced in the DRC. It was a GREAT TIME OF FRATERNITY. I was happy to coordinate it.
