on Friday 22nd February 2018 at St. Vinzenz’s Hospital in Cologne (Germany)
at the age of 73 years, of which 44 years of missionary life
in Mali, Chad, Tanzania, DR Congo and Germany.

Milestones in Brother Alois Blatz’s life
Alois was born on August 15, 1945 in Ober-Mörlen, in the diocese of Mainz, Germany. He was admitted to the novitiate of the White Fathers (Missionaries of Africa) on February 2, 1967 in Hörstel, Germany. He took his temporary missionary oath as a “brother” on August 10, 1974 in Mopti, Mali, and then his final oath on May 9, 1976 in his hometown of Ober-Mörlen.
