Over a period of three years, from 2013 to 2015, 60 African theologians of all shades of opinion shared their views on religion, the Church and society in Africa. Henri Valette 1929 – 2017 (PE nr. 1083)

Henri was born into a farming family on the 2nd January 1929 in Bagé-la Ville in the Diocese of Belley, north of Lyon. He was the eldest of eleven children and grew up in a milieu marked by Christian values. All his life, he remained attached to his family. After finishing his primary education in the local village school, the young Henri was admitted to the Diocesan Junior Seminary. Feeling a call to a missionary life, he was encouraged by his teachers who highly recommended him to the Superior of our seminary in Kerlois. Pedro Molina García 1932 – 2017 (PE nr. 1083)

It was on Monday, 27th March 2017 that Fr. Pedro Molina García died at the age of 84 years in the Ruíz de Alda Hospital in Granada, Spain. He had being hospitalised urgently two days previously after suffering a heart attack.

Louis De Winter 1926 – 2017 (PE nr. 1083)

Lodewijk De Winter – everybody called him Lode or Louis – was born on the 11th April 1926 at Bevel in the Province of Antwerp, Belgium. His father was administrator, founder and leader of many different associations and cooperatives. The most famous one was the Boerenbond, a farmers association. Lode began his secondary schooling in Antwerp but did his final years at the Junior Seminary of Hoogstraten. In December 1946, he entered the White Fathers at Boechout. Leo Missinne 1927 – 2017 (PE nr. 1083)

Leo was born on the 6th November 1927 at Kortemark, in Western Flanders, Belgium. His secondary schooling took place in the Junior Seminary of Roeselare where he was active in the KSA, a Student Catholic Action organisation. One of his brothers is a Scheut missionary. In September 1948, he entered the White Fathers at Boechout. He did his novitiate in Varsenare in 1948/49 and his theological studies in Heverlee. He took his Missionary Oath there on the 19th July 1952 followed by ordination to the priesthood on the 5th April 1953.
